The Marie Claire Naked Campaign 2014

13 February 2014

placeholder

Marie Claire’s popular Naked issue was launched last night at Mondiall restaurant in Cape Town and features 36 celebrities in the nude in aid of The Lunchbox Fund, a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing a daily meal for orphaned or vulnerable school children in disadvantaged areas around South Africa.

More than 12 million South African children are living on less than R20 a day and The Lunchbox Fund facilitates public donations and volunteers to help provide these children with at least one healthy meal per day at the schools involved.

The issue goes on sale Monday, 17 February.

‘We are so very excited about this year’s Naked issue,’ says Aspasia Karras, editor of Marie Claire. ‘Not only do we hope to raise awareness for The Lunchbox fund, but we are looking at raising money too, to help the millions of children in this country enjoy a decent meal each day.’

Marie Claire is inviting readers who have purchased a copy of the Naked issue to share their purchase on social media, by posting a ‘selfie’ with the magazine and including the hashtag #MCNaked. For every 5 000 correctly tagged selfies shared, Marie Claire will donate R5 000 to The Lunchbox Fund to the total of R10 000.

The general public can also get involved with The Lunchbox Fund directly by partnering with the fund, donating money or volunteering. Visit Thelunchboxfund.org for more information.
