Community Responsibility

As a family-run business, Chocolatier Australia is committed to working toward better outcomes for everyone in our supply chain and for the community and environment as a whole.

We are completely Australian owned, completely Australian made, and wherever possible we use Australian suppliers as best practice both for our community and for the environment.

Rainforest Alliance

We partner with Rainforest Alliance to make sure all of our cocoa is certified as being socially and environmentally sustainable.

Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation

Like many businesses around the world, Chocolatier Australia is very concerned with reducing our environmental impact. Like you, we recycle our waste in whatever ways are available to us through waste management companies.

We work hard to make sure our packaging is as environmentally sustainable as possible, within the strict parameters of food safety standards.

We are members of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation, a not for profit group leading the development of a circular packaging economy in Australia. We have recently signed up to the Australian Recycling Labelling program, so keep an eye on our packaging for these very clear, instructive labels!

If you want to find out more about what we are doing in this area, our APCO annual report is available here and our action plan for the coming year is available here.

Community Partnerships

Over the years we have produced different fundraising products in support of various charity partners. These have included a range of ‘pink’ boxes for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and Dr. Bunny for the Children’s Hospital Foundation Australia (CHFA).

Currently Puddles the Platypus is raising funds for local organisation Australian Platypus Conservancy. 25% of the profits from this product are donated annually to help them in their research and advocacy to save local platypus colonies. Find out more

For Easter 2022, we also produced a charity egg in partnership with Josh’s Eggs (another Victorian family-owned small business), which raised money for the Royal Children’s Hospital appeal, selling through Woolworths supermarkets.
