We put together a few answers to some of the questions you guys ask us regularly. Hopefully these will get you back to work as quickly as possible!

1) Can coffee shop sounds really help me work better?

o   Science and our own personal experience say yes. According to a peer-reviewed study out of the University of Chicago, “A moderate level of ambient noise is conducive to creative cognition.” In a nutshell, this means being a tiny bit distracted helps you be more creative. This is why those AHA moments happen when we’re brushing our teeth, taking a shower, or mowing the lawn! If we’re not focused too much at a task at hand, we come up with awesome stuff. In the coffee shop, the chatter and clatter actually distracts us a tiny bit and allows our creative juices to start flowing. It sounds crazy, but it works! That said, don’t take our word for it. Check out the study here in the Journal of Consumer Research.

2) Does the website audio play automatically?

o   Yes, Coffitivity plays automatically when you open the webapp.

3) What browser should I use to access Coffitivity?

o   For best results we suggest using a modern browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Opera; other browsers may experience problems intermittently.

4) Is Coffitivity free?

o   The default Coffitivity audio tracks are free, but we also offer subscription options for access to our full library of creativity-boosting audio. Check out Coffitivity Premium for sounds from around the globe!

5) Why do Ihaveto sign in with Facebook for Coffitivity Premium??

o   Facebook is affordable and widely used by the majority of our community, making their login a great solution while we work to provide the best and securest way for everyone to access Coffitivity Premium.

      Keep in mind that you can still listen to our default audio tracks until we have a login option that suits you!

6) Should I play music with Coffitivity?

o   That’s generally a personal preference. We hear from fans who swear by Coffitivity by itself, while we hear from others who listen to music every time they have Coffitivity on. We recommend experimenting with all kinds of audio. Our crew tends to enjoy music without lyrics mixed with Coffitivity while we work.

7) Are there Coffitivity apps coming for other platforms (Windows Phone, PC, ect)?

o   While we don’t currently offer a Windows Phone app or a PC app, we certainly haven’t ruled out the possibility of diving into them down the road. Stay tuned and you very well could see something for those platforms as well as updates to others!

8) Will I be able to access Coffitivity Premium audio in the Coffitivity apps?

o   Currently we only offer Premium audio for the web app. The long term goal, however, is to have one login for all of our platforms that will allow you to access your Premium purchases anywhere. Keep an eye out for development updates.

9) Is there a way to preview the Coffitivity Premium audio before purchasing?

o   We don’t currently offer a way to preview Coffitivity Premium audio. As we expand our audio library, you may see that option become available.

10) Will you guys offer more ways to pay for Coffitivity Premium?

o   Stripe and Knox Payments are our best friends when it comes to ease of implementation in collecting payments. As other platforms become a bit friendlier on our end, we’ll consider adding them to the list of ways to purchase a Coffitivity Premium subscription.
