GROUPE CLARINS

Clarins was inspired by founder Jacques Courtin-Clarins’ love and respect for women’s beauty.

As a medical student in Paris, he experienced firsthand how maintaining beauty was as important to most women as maintaining good health.

It was this realization that motivated the young man to devote his life to the field of beauty therapy with the creation of the first Clarins Institute de Beauté in Paris in 1954—a passion he passed on to his sons Christian and Olivier.

Since the company opened its doors, Clarins’ reputation for product excellence has spoken with authoritative impact to the world’s most discerning clientele—an influence that has touched millions of loyal customers across 150 nations.

Based on the success of plant-based formulas and exclusive application methods—in the early nineties, Clarins became the European leader of prestige skin care and expanded into two other divisions: Make-up and The Clarins Fragrance Group which includes Clarins, Thierry Mugler, Azzaro, David Yurman, Porsche Design and Swarovski perfumes.

Today, Groupe Clarins is supported by an expanding international network of 20 distribution subsidiaries, a workforce of 6,100 employees, 19,000 retail venues and net sales approaching $1 billion.

“I created Clarins with love, so that every woman can feel happier in her skin and more beautiful every day. Our products and application techniques are the fruit of years of dialogue with our clients. At Clarins we understand a woman’s beauty concerns and always listen to her views.”
