LEARN MORE ABOUT DELCO

Delco Foods, a specialty and Italian food distributor, offers customers throughout the Midwest premium products sourced from around the world as well as locally. We are proud to be a family-run company that has been in business since 1956, and as a family business, we understand the importance of partnerships. Delco is committed to the success of our customers and employees, and promotes that success by building and nurturing strong relationships.

We use nothing but the best products. Before we call it a Delco product, we taste it, our in-house chefs test it, the owners sample it, and then we test it again. With state-of-the-art temperature controls in our warehouse and on our trucks, all products are stored and delivered in their ideal state to the customer. Not only do we pride ourselves in our service to our customers, but also in the cleanliness of our warehouse. Every year, we elect to have an AIB audit to ensure our warehouse surpasses expectations.

While there are several broad line distributors, we are one of the leading independent Italian food specialists in the Midwest and are focused on what our customers do. No one else carries the full breadth of products to meet customers’ custom needs. We import directly, by the container load, items such as olive oil, prosciutto, Greek olives, balsamic, and imported cheese. Those items that are domestic are the best possible brands you can find in a kitchen – including Vermont butter, Nueske’s bacon, fresh local Amish chicken, Tribeca artisanal breads, and La Quercia specialty meats to name a few.

In addition, we process custom cheese blends daily without additives and print custom pizza boxes, and our beverage division offers specialty LaVazza Italian coffee and espresso as well as artisanal teas and coffee/espresso/tea equipment.

We look forward to learning more about your business and creating a successful partnership with you.

OUR HISTORY

Delco takes its name from Delaware County, Pennsylvania, where the original Delco Foods made its mark. In 1956, founder Buddy Robins brought the business to Indianapolis and introduced area restaurants to his high-quality pizza products.

There was a demand for accessible and affordable premium foods, and Buddy’s business approach won him the respect and loyalty of customers around the city.  Raised in the tradition of serving others, the second generation of Delco family moved the company to a new location on the Northwest side of Indianapolis in 2000. In 2020, the company  made another move, this time into a new facility located in the Indianapolis suburb of Whitestown, Indiana.  This facility features state-of-the-art storage technology, two high-end test kitchens and a convenient location just off of I-65.  2022 saw another exciting development –  Delco Foods entered a strategic partnership agreement with, and a portion of the business was acquired by, Ferraro Foods.  Ferraro Foods, not unlike Delco, is a  private Italian food distributor based in New Jersey.  The new partnership offers stability in the ever-changing and highly-competitive food distribution landscape, which should enable and support continued growth under Delco Foods for years to come.

Our business continues to change and grow as we constantly pursue premium quality, value, and service for our customers.
