We went on Wednesday august 2 and it was closed. We were told by a passerby that it had been closed for 2 days. We were so sad!

I vividly remember my first poutine experience, and that was years ago, in Toronto, Canada. My cousin described the dish as having fries with cheese curds and gravy, and I thought this was the oddest combination ever, and that only Canadians could come up with such a thing! I was pleasantly surprised after my first bite, and always wished that we could have the same dish in the States.
I was elated when US Fries opened in town!!! I'm always craving this place after a night of drinking, and it's a plus that they're open until 3 AM! The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and there's so many menu options to choose from.
I absolutely love the Shepherd's Pie Poutine which has cheese curds, gravy, ground beef, onions and corn. I do wish that the onions were sautéed alongside the ground beef, but it's still super filling and delicious!! My date went in for the onions after I had already taken some bites, so it was a good thing that we had gum on us!
If you want something simple and tasty, you can always opt for the Traditional Poutine, which is your basic fries, cheese curds and gravy. Be sure to stop in!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sep 8, 2015
Poutine?
Yes! My first time trying a Poutine dish! Didn't know exactly what they were so I went to their website and checked out the menu. Turns out that many of the dishes appealed to me.
We didn't just happen to stumble upon this place. It was offered and I purchased a Groupon deal. We were visiting the Tucson area and staying at our timeshare in Oro Valley. We came here after spending the day in Tombstone.
Parking was a challenge but we got lucky and there was a spot right in front of the restaurant. The gal behind the counter saw that we (me and my hubby), and another customer behind us looked lost while looking up at the many choices above us and since it was our first time she explained what a Poutine was. Very friendly and helpful. Ended up having the Bacon (thick sliced bacon and scallions) and my hubby chose the Pot Roast (tender roast beef with scallions). We both shared and enjoyed our meal. Very tasty and delicious. So what is a Poutine? the base are French Fries, Cheese Curds and Gravy... then you choose from the menu what type of dish you want. The meal is conveniently served in a 'to go' box so if you are not able to finish it you can just close the lid.
Wish we had this in California. I understand that this is the first poutinerie location in the West Coast. They also offered vegetarian Poutine and burgers. Thank you, Tom! Wish I got the name of your fabulous gal who served us on Sunday around 5:00p... she also kept the place clean

I'm so glad it was a hit, May. Great choices for your first poutine adventure -- the Pot Roast Poutine is a new favourite of mine. Hope you're able to find a poutinerie in your area, but we'll be here next time you're in town.
I'd love to give my team a shout out for the great service. Will you confirm that it was Sunday the 6th that you were in?
Talk soon,

1st time here & I must say I'm very pleased never thought fries & gravy but wanting something different made me stop by; although this was my third attempt at trying to eat here being the local on 4th ave & the parking not so great I was extremely happy I found parking right away.
With two sizes to choose from I got the regular & that was plenty in fact I couldn't even finish & had to give the rest to my brother.
U.S. Fries a place I will definitely return to try a different type of fries :)Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Business owner information

Chili Corn poutine -- nice choice for your first time, Tiffany! I'm glad you finally got a chance to see what poutine is all about. I'm already looking forward to having you back for another try.
Next time you come by, do you think you'll try the traditional poutine or did you have another poutine in mind?
'Til next time,

Of course.... Being from Canada, I stuck true to my roots and had the traditional.
Husband and son both had the carne asada. Hubby would ask for no gravy next time, as he couldn't taste the pico .
Love the music....
Three screens with the games on!
Enjoyed it. We had a rough day, so, it was nice to sit and eat comfort food.
Now we need one in Casa Grande!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Apr 10, 2016Previous reviewFairly expensive. Big portions. I had the regular traditional, and it didn't disappoint. Hubby had the Philly, it was ok. Not enough seating, but everyone was very nice.

"American Poutine" caught my attention! What a fun concept! It is perfect for a college town!!
Use their Groupon! We got 2 regular size fries, a soda, and a bottled water for what the Groupon covered + 82 cents...
I got the Sweet BBQ Pulled Pork. The jalapenos were spicy! The pork was good! Lots of flavor and was pretty tender. The gravy and cheese curds were good and the whole meal was nice and hot!
Tim got the hamburger fries which I didn't think would be as good as they were! I tried some and liked it too. He really liked them. Except for the pickles, which I ate...
I like that they have a wide variety of options. And they are mostly things that you wouldn't think of on fries! And their online menu has pictures of all the options so you have an idea of what you are getting!
I am new to the whole pountine thing but was very pleasantly surprised the first time I tried it. And this place was as good as the food truck I had it at the first time.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Business owner information

I'm so glad everything was great your first time stopping by, Karin. It sounds like you and Tim enjoyed the Hamburger and BBQ Pork poutine you ordered -- that makes me smile. (Even if he isn't a fan of pickles.) It's awesome that you appreciated our creative toppings and are slowly joining the dark side. I mean, poutine side.
You went for the pork -- was there anything else you were choosing between?
Hope to hear back,

I actually ran across US Fries on the Yelp app. My favorite food sadly...is french fries so i drove across town to come here. They sell "poutines" which is apparently is a Canadian style dish. Which is basically fries with stuff loaded on top.
It was really amazing! The store was nice and clean and they have one of those newer style soda machines where you can add what ever flavor to your favorite soda. And a huge fridge full of water is a plus.
I got the sweet BBQ with pickled jalepeno. My fiance got the pork 3 way and a tommy boy classic burger. They let you add unlimited patties for $1.99 each.
Mine had cheese curds and gravy on it. It was a mix i never would have thought of and it worked.
They were kind of expensive ($11 for a large) but it was worth it. If im hurting for fries ill go here. Lol.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alessandro C.Tucson, AZ05Jul 19, 2017
I ate a burger and fries. My food was mediocre at best. The fries were barely warm and grew cold after two minutes. I couldn't finish them. The table I sat at had uneven legs and wobbled every time I lay a hand on top of it.
I left a $1.00 tip on my credit card receipt. Two days later I noticed that I had actually been charged $6.00, a huge 45% of the bill. Honest mistake? It's possible. But who tips 45% of the check in a fast food place with basically no service to speak of? I'll never be back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gabriel W.Tucson, AZ229196185May 10, 2015
I had been meaning to try this place ever since I had heard rumors of their opening. I'm a big fan of poutine and most people out here have simply never heard of it, and when they do hear what it is they shy away in disgust. That is, until they actually try it, and then the genius of poutine becomes clear: French fries, brown gravy, cheese curds. Delicious. Think of it as french-canadian comfort food: their version of mac and cheese. I can dig it.
I forced the wife to come with me under duress. It was kind of a Poutine ambush, and my plan worked perfectly. She ordered the vegetarian and I ordered the original and we decided to share an order of fried cheese curds. Her review has already been posted, but it was MY idea to go with the curry sauce for the curds. When the guy behind the counter heard my request he squinted and nodded a little as if to say "you sly dog" but then replied, "yeah, we could swing that". I liked his style, too.
Moments later, our food arrived. The curds were fantastic, and I do recommend the curry sauce. We also had ranch, a classic, which was great. US Fries does their actual French Fries really well: exterior texture was perfectly crisp to stand up to the wetness of the gravy, while still steamy and moist on the interior. Good job, here. I tried both the dishes, as did my wife. This is not exactly her thing anyway, but she said she would return in the future if I requested, which was about the most I would have expected to get out of her anyway.
As for me, the vegetarian gravy was just ok. I mean, it was flavorful considering its vegetarian, I guess. It wouldn't have been what I would have ordered as a second or even 5th option on the menu, so I can't judge too harshly here. It was ok. My traditional poutine was pretty darn good. The cheese curds were on point. The brown gravy was so so close to perfect but not QUITE what I want in a brown gravy. There was something off about the saltiness I think. Anyway, it was very good though.
All in all, I will be back to try some of the more enticing menu items like the curry poutine. That sounds just awesome. Well done, boys!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

So you're the man behind the genius curry idea in Alana's review! Nice to finally hear from you, Gabriel -- and big thanks for coming in! The vegetarian poutine is different since it's not made with the usual meat flavors. I commend you for giving it a try.
Looking forward to having you back for another round of poutine. Think you'll get the Green Curry Chicken poutine or will you give the Triple Pork poutine a try?
Look forward to hearing from you,
Tom - Dr Tim L L.Tucson, AZ1764301958Jan 21, 2015
BELLY BOMB ... Huge waste of food. They serve it in a cheap food truck kind of flimsy cardboard box. It is hot but in a short time it is a huge soggy, sloppy mess. Unless if you like glob of cheese, mushy french fries covered in a salty gravy with a hint of meat.
The meat serving is very small for the price.
I think most of the money goes into the strange decor.
Wait counter dude was new and nice.
I will never go back.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Hector G.Owens Cross Roads, AL141160593Jul 5, 2017
Location: Located on 4th Avenue
The Skinny: Atmosphere was okay but lots of missed opportunities due to un-clean tables, a lot of missing food and not so good food.
The Restaurant: The restaurant was semi-clean. They did have a problem with no-one wanting to clean any tables.
The Food: I'm not sure why they did not have anyone run to get food but there were missing many parts of their menu. They had no burgers available considering that is front and center of their menu it makes you wonder. Also they ran out of pork which took out quite a few dishes and then ran out of Steak for Carne Asade right after I ordered. The food was just "okay". As this was my FIRST time tring Poutine, I realized that it may be my last if it taste normally like this. The gravy seemed very salty and the cheese curds did not seem fresh at all. I was not very happy with the food and did not eat much of it.
Overall: I cannot recommend this place. It just was not on its game even for a Saturday.
Tip: Do not go. Plenty of good restaurants on Fourth
The Kids Review: Didn't go!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
