I had forgotten about these film snaps from October & November last year.

I traveled to Vermont, London, Paris and Edinburgh – for work and for fun – and these photos were all shot on my Contax while I was on the road.

Very excited to share this news!

I photographed the cover story for the newest issue of Dwell magazine (March 2016), an impressive and super eclectic home, sauna tower/treehouse and barn in the Hudson Valley. Designed by architects & interior designers at BarlisWedlick Architects. The issue on newsstands right now.

Wynton Marsalis’ Favorite Things for WSJ. Mag

I had the pleasure of photographing jazz great Wynton Marsalis’ favorite things for the March issue of WSJ. Magazine.

I was psyched to meet Mr. Marsalis briefly during the shoot, as well as his son Jasper (who painted the small painting above).

The second photo above is a closer view of the trumpet. It was a gift from his trumpet maker, Dave Monette, in the early 90s. It seriously weights about 8 pounds – it’s pretty amazing. Etched in the center you can see “PROF. MARSALIS”.

You can see the magazine tearsheet here.

Happy New Year!

I’m kicking off 2016 by sharing a feature that I photographed for the current issue of Dwell magazine (January 2016).

It’s an incredible coastal Rhode Island house where I spent 2 idyllic summer days taking photos of the Merola family and their summer home. This is one of my favorite parts of New England so it was such a pleasure to travel here for the assignment (after the sun set and the shoot wrapped on day 2, I made it to Abbott’s Lobster in the Rough just before they closed and celebrated with a lobster roll, steamers and a cold beer).

I’ve added the full series of photos to my portfolio here: http://www.brianwferry.com/coastal-rhode-island-home-for-dwell

Thanks to Sue Getzendanner and the Merola family for such a great shoot.

You can see the story on Dwell’s website, too.

VERY excited to share a series of new work.

I photographed the C’H’C’M’ Autumn/Winter Lookbook and you can see the full series on my portfolio now.

I worked on this project with Sweetu Patel, a friend and the founder/creative brain behind the label. It’s the first “lookbook” that he’s done in the 5 years since he’s had the C’H’C’M’ shop, so I’m super proud of the work we created.

I hope you’ll take a look at the full series here:

Above, some photos of this incredible NYC Art Deco apartment in Chelsea that I photographed for the new issue of Philistine Magazine. The apartment owner is a very interesting & quite successful antiques dealer, and he had great stories about the parties he’s hosted there and the history of many of the objects he’s collected.

You can see the full series from this shoot on my portfolio here: http://www.brianwferry.com/art-deco-apartment-philistine

And speaking of my portfolio – I’ve updated the site with a bunch of new work. Check out new/recent projects here:
