Rebecca Gaye Mahoney

Rebecca Gaye Mahoney, age 60, of Oak Hill, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill after a short illness.
Born April 13, 1954 in Oak Hill, she was the daughter of Lois Mundy Mahoney of Oak Hill and the late James W. “Mike” Mahoney.
Rebecca was a 1972 graduate of Collins High School and a member of the Scarbro Baptist Church.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Michael Mahoney.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her son, William M. Hice of College Park, MD, life partner, Billy Joe Hice of Oak Hill, her sister, Elizabeth “Libbi” Revels and husband Noel of Oak Hill, two nieces, Sarah Powell and husband Mike Henning of Oak Hill and Jennifer Powell Fell and husband Nathan of Scarbro.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Bryan Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Tuesday, March 10, 2015.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
