Ekakini - Alone
Concept
"Ekakini Bhumarupa Nirdwaita Dwaita Varjita..."

"She is by herself, infinite, without duality.
Alone, she creates and consumes the world.
She unites and separates. She is the cause and effect."
Inspired by the above Sanskrit stotra, Ekakini is an Indian classical dance-theatre presentation by solo dancers accompanied by live musicians. Conceived by the second-generation Jayamangala dancers, this is an opportunity for them to grow and mature as solo performers. In a sense, every solo performer is an ekakini to some extent since she creates a world of storytelling using movements, mudras, and music.
