• An image is a representation of the reality
• The relationship between an image and reality is called
iconicity
• The iconicity has different grades and there are images
with more likeness with reality
• Here we can see some images of human figure
with different levels of iconicity. From more
realistic to abstract shape
The iconicity of an image means how similar
the image is to the object represented.
Abstraction represents something in a different
way to reality.
• The abstaction is a process of simplificacion
• Comenzamos con el nivel de iconicidad máximo
de una fotografía realista en color, pasamos por
una fotografía coloreada poco realista, una
caricatura, un cuadro cubista de Picasso (en el
que puede ser difícil reconocer la figura humana),
un maniquí articulado, los símbolos de unos
aseos, una imagen en la que se adivina un rostro,
para terminar con una imagen prehistórica de la
figura humana (el índalo almeriense).
