Outfit of the Day

Some days you just feel better than others. It could be the exact same outfit you’ve worn a dozen times, but you just feel like everything is fitting together. This outfit includes some pieces that are so old, they aren’t even on a website I can link you to anymore. I gave you a few similar suggestions for the pieces I couldn’t find in case you like something that I have on!

OOTD One Edit

The shirt I am linking to, I actually own. While it’s not the one I’m wearing in this picture, I have worn it with this same outfit and I love it. The shirt is also incredibly soft.

To bring a little more Spring to this outfit, I decided that this kimono/scarf wrap would really brighten this outfit up.

OOTD Two Edit

The jeans are standards at Maurice’s and I own three pair. They are soft and stretchy, and I love the way they roll up.

The shoes are from Old Navy and they are called smoking loafers. They don’t have these exact shoes anymore, but I found some that are very similar, and I like them quite a bit.

Happy Blurry

This picture is blurry and slightly out of focus, but I love it so much. I think it really shows the joy I feel when I look at my wonderful photographer.

Also, the sunglasses are from a gas station in Clarksville, Arkansas three years ago.

So, for some reason, I’m having a hard time finding a link for those.

Week Three – Ice and Snow

This is a weird post to be writing right now. It is currently 80 degrees outside without a cloud in the sky. I know most people love this kind of weather, but sun makes me lazy and almost sad. I love clouds and rain and they make me very adventurous. So I’m buckling down and writing this post so I can get on to more current things!

Two weeks of snow and ice made people in this town a little crazy, but when I heard we were getting a third week of winter precipitation I was down right ecstatic.

Ice River

We went on the same trail behind our house and marveled and the last bit of winter we would get this year.

This week we got a couple of inches of sleet and ice, and then a good four inches of snow. It was so beautiful that my husband decided we should go on a hike off of this trail into the wooded area behind our apartments.

We had never been through these woods, but what can I say? The snow makes me more adventurous and more willing to walk a mile or two. I was glad we did because we ended up on the back side of our apartments, which we normally never see, and saw a lady struggling to get all the snow and ice off her car. She had no window scraper, and was using her arm to get it all off. By the looks of how wet her shirt was, I think she had been doing it for a while. We stopped to help her and ended up getting our scraper out of our car and my husband cleared all of the frozen precipitation off of her car. It’s moments like those that remind me that I married a really great man.

Week Two – Snow

Week two of Winter precipitation was probably the most exciting weather I have ever experienced.

Even though I now live in Arkansas, I was born and raised in East Texas. In Texas, I experienced one hundred plus degree weather way before I experienced snow. So, as you can imagine, when we got all of that ice I talked about in the last postI was prepared for that to be all the winter precipitation we would receive.

Then we got almost six inches of snow.

We woke up on the 25th to rain. We had been told that it would start snowing at some point, but we were skeptical. Then an hour later it started snowing harder than I have ever seen in my life.

We watched the snow come down for a few hours and I kept expecting it to stop. However, it didn’t for eight hours. So we took advantage of it while it was still coming down and went out on the trail by our home.

This is probably my favorite part of the trail. It reminds me of a hobbit hole, but I’m not quite sure why.

It was such a beautiful morning, and then when it kept snowing into the afternoon, we decided it was time to go sledding.

We both had different techniques, but we both ended up cold and wet, and had so many laughs.

This beautiful snow day makes it into my top five favorite days ever.

Week One – Ice

The last three weeks in this part of the country have been beautiful and very cold. I’m not trying to say we have anything compared to Northern states or other countries, but these last three weeks got a little crazy on the winter precipitation front.

Week one was purely ice, about two inches of it. We went to bed on February 15th to rain, and woke up on the 16th to a frozen (Let it Goooo..) wonderland.

On February 17th we woke up to more frozen (no singing this time) wonderland and also, no power. However, we made the most of it by adventuring around the trail behind our house.

Also, there’s something so magical about ice. It makes the trees so gorgeous and magical you start skimming over the ugly things, like a giant green dumpster.

Even though the ice is dangerous, and therefore has a bad reputation, this ice was the prettiest thing I had ever seen.

Well, that is until the snow a week later.

Getting Started

I love all things social media and internet. I watch more YouTube than I do TV.

Most of the YouTubers I watch are in a category called “daily vlogers”. These creators record their life, whether exciting or boring, for anywhere from ten to thirty minutes. As weird as it may seem, these can be highly entertaining for the viewer. However, the reason most of these creators start filming their life is because they want to be able to look back on their life.

I’m starting this blog for that reason. I was taking pictures yesterday, and I wanted to share them so I could have them for as long as possible. I could have shared them on Instagram or Facebook, but I have so many I want to share over the past few weeks, and I don’t want to be that person.

So this is my blog. I want to share my adventures, my likes and dislikes, my style, and my life.

Let’s get started.
