Ultrasound AI algorithm enhances liver fibrosis diagnosis

A study published in the journal Radiology found an over 20% improvement in predicting pathologically advanced liver fibrosis using an algorithm that combines the Fibrosis-4 Index and an ultrasound deep-learning model, compared with the FIB-4 alone. The new sequential algorithm also decreased unnecessary referrals by 42% even without needing access to liver stiffness measurement. AuntMinnie (free registration) (4/23)
