  1. This is quite depressing; it is unethical and unprofessional. Cosmetic surgery is intended to improve rather than diminish one’s self-esteem. I wish you serenity and an end to this horrible situation.

  2. These surgeons merely want to demand greater prices and produce zero results, which is a complete waste of time.

  3. I don’t believe surgeries are harmful since wanting to feel good about your body is not wrong. I simply wish more people understood that when it comes to safety, the cheaper a method is, the lower its compliance with industry standards.

  4. This is a bad situation for everyone. It’s astonishing to hear how your confidence was broken, especially over something so intimate as your appearance. I hope that qualified surgeons can address these problems. People who have had negative encounters with Edward should maintain their strength.

    1. Although Edward Kwak deserves a zero star rating, I am forced to give him at least one. He underwent surgery on both eyes. I felt comfortable talking to him and relying on the information on his website. The office told me that if I handed him cash, I could avoid having to pay taxes, which I did. After surgery, my eyes swelled up a lot.

  5. It is an essential message to people to exercise caution when selecting a surgeon. Wishing you strength and hope on your road to recovery.

  6. What was he thinking? Removing the columella was one of the worst things he could have done. I wish you luck in finding someone artistic and skillful to fix your nose.

    1. Either he lacked the necessary skill or he overlooked a small element that prevented him from creating my two eye forms exactly alike. When you look closely at my eyes, you can see that he did not extend the sutures to the other end of the eyelid, giving it an asymmetrical disposition. I paid a few bucks to get this repaired, but I don’t think it received better care. This is what I wanted to say to anyone considering receiving treatment from Dr. Edward Kwak.

    1. Spending money on nose jobs and double eyelid surgery now can just make you regret it later, just like I did. My eyes look drastically different from one another and the size doesn’t even seem to change since I had a nose operation and double eyelids done with Edward Kwak a year ago. Before I had surgery on my nose and double eyelids, I looked a lot better. People will notice that you have had work done on your nose since it looks so obvious. I advise anyone considering cosmetic surgery, especially Asians, not to work with Dr. Kwak because he will ruin your face.

  7. The New York Medical Board should also be held liable for permitting these operation clinics to operate without sufficient oversight.

  8. The issue is that patients are unable or unwilling to readily upload the same reviews/images to other sites, for reasons I do not understand. I suppose they are afraid of being humiliated and sued.

    1. Dr. Edward Kwak’s office staff, including Alexa, was a complete disaster! I would never suggest this office.

    2. The comparison he showed me during my consultation did not resemble my findings at all. After my operation, I still have protruding bones and lumps. Additionally, the office personnel is impolite and quick to brush off inquiries or concerns, making this a highly emotional process.

  9. Spend less money, do your homework, and find someone more qualified who understands how to execute the task correctly. I had been reporting to him on a monthly basis because it was obvious from day two following surgery that the shape was not right and I was unhappy, and he had told me repeatedly during follow-up sessions that if there were areas of concern or need for adjustment, he would be delighted to do so after a year. He told me it would look better as it healed, but it didn’t.

  10. Don’t have Dr. Edward Kwak do Asian epicanthoplasty on you. In six months, I’ll be heading to Korea for revision. thrice the price you would pay in Asia for an artificial form. He lacks the dexterity and artistic sense necessary to execute a graceful epicanthoplasty on Asian eyes.

  11. A last-minute connection was sent, but it was broken. I saw the doctor at last, but he told me that his vision was poor and that the video visit was not for diagnosis. Why, therefore, did they provide a video visit?

  12. By writing this review, I hope to help stop someone else from getting a subpar nose job done, which will eventually require revisions. I am writing this as someone who underwent that revision with a different physician after having a rhinoplasty performed by Edward Kwak initially. This is your visage. Strive for excellence. No, this isn’t it.

  13. Edward Kwak is undoubtedly highly skilled, however the outcome of my rhinoplasty was not what I had hoped for. My statement that I want the modifications to lean conservative must have been misunderstood. I was oblivious to the changes since they were so minute. The intended thinner nose tip was not achieved. A year and a half later, my scars were still very visible. While the result was poor overall, at least the work wasn’t entirely faulty.

  14. I’m not thrilled with the result; I can only breathe out of one nostril, my nose is uneven and crooked, the tip is so high you can see into my nostrils, and I’ve been in pain around the tip for more than a year. It’s simpler to give him your money because of his kind staff and excellent bedside demeanour. Nevertheless, he will not accept responsibility for any mistakes he made or make any necessary adjustments once the surgery is finished and paid for. (My nose has a lot of issues.)

  15. My picture was used on arbitrary websites, which was a distressing event. It is intolerable that Dr. Kwak and his employees disregard my privacy and do not feel the need to apologise for their lack of professionalism.

  16. Bridge expanded, nose inverted, tip crooked, and lacking in elegance. My outcomes from Dr. Edward Kwak’s main open rhinoplasty has me utterly delighted. I contacted him based on the majority of positive reviews I had read, his extensive editing experience, and the high calibre work he had posted on Instagram. I asked for delicate, naturally-looking results during our appointment, including the softening of my right facet and the refinement of a bulbous tip/columella. I emphasised natural outcomes that were unobtrusive, and we even talked about what I didn’t want throughout the consultation.

  17. When I was eighteen, I had reconstructive surgery done by Edward Kwak. I had very little scarring, and my wounds healed well. But the lack of privacy and disregard for HIPAA regulations really worry me. I agreed to have just my eyes cropped and placed on his website in exchange for a price reduction. A few months following the procedure, my acquaintance came upon full-face photos of my before and after on his blog and website. Before they acknowledged their error, I corresponded with the office for several months (the person or team in charge of website management “accidentally” forgot to crop my photo). During this time, it was exceedingly difficult to go to the office, and Dr. Kwak was unaware of the entire incident. Dr. Kwak was oblivious to the whole incident. I was young and stupid so I did not pursue any further action, but looking back, I should have. Dr. Kwak and his staff ( a receptionist named Nayeon at the time) does not respect patients’ privacy.

  18. I visited this practice to get wonderful sculpting treatments done in two separate places. The personnel were courteous and competent. Having said that, I paid a large amount of money for therapies that were completely ineffective. The doctor never gave me a consultation during either of my appointments, but I was informed it wasn’t necessary, so I felt it was okay because they weren’t giving me any injections. I waited the entire three months to check for any changes, but there were none. I sent an email to the office, but I never heard back. I gave it another go after waiting a few weeks, but nothing changed. I wasn’t looking for a miracle but at least some noticeable change, but there was none and no follow up from the doctors office after my contact. Save your money and go to one of the many other plastic surgeons in Manhattan.

  19. This has been a really bad experience for me. Still, there was very little wait time and the staff was pleasant. However, the doctor’s willingness to assist is more crucial than the staff’s civility.

  20. Just don’t if you’re a man with a prominent European-style nose. Really, just quit looking right now and go somewhere else.

  21. One of his patients had a first rhinoplasty, and the result was a terribly executed procedure. The patient’s nose was totally twisted and crumpled. Instead of truly repairing the twisting, there is a strut in place to merely conceal it.
