Canadian-Himalayan Association for Innovation
Nestled within the majestic peaks of the Himalayas lie remote and sparsely populated villages facing very modern problems, such as economic marginalization, climate change, and loss of culture. Through strategic partnerships, the Canadian Himalayan Association for Innovation (CHAI) is able to support grassroots initiatives that foster positive change, primarily in Ladakh and Kullu. The focus is on innovative health and education projects that empower women, youth, children, and persons with disabilities.
In recent years, CHAI has funded:
· Children and youth skill-building camps
· Women’s health and well-being projects
· Mobile rehabilitation and education outreach
CHAI has been active in supporting this work since 2005, and became a registered charity in Canada in 2014. See our Projects page for more information on CHAI’s activities. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
