Edgar L. Crossett,lll,P.C. has been serving clients since 1972 from its offices in Atlanta Georgia. The firm primarily represents seriously injured people who were hurt because of the negligence, or carelessness, of another person or entity. Edgar L. Crossett,lll is an experienced trial lawyer who represents individuals in state, federal and the appellate courts. He has appeared before the Court of Appeals of Georgia regularly over the years and has also argued cases before the Supreme Court of Georgia. He holds the highest peer review rating by Martindale Hubbel for legal abilty and ethics, AV- Preeminate. He began his career representing insurance companies but switched early on in 1973 to the other side to represent injured plaintiffs.

Edgar L. Crossett,lll has been practicing law in Atlanta since 1972. A native of Jacksonville, Florida he graduated from Mercer University, class of 1966, with a Bachelor of Arts in English and was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He received his legal education at the University of Georgia and Oklahoma City University where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1972. He was on the Dean's list, won the American Jurisprudence award in Constitutional law for highest grade, the Farmer's Insurance Tuition Award for academic achievement and was a member of Phi Delta Phi.He is a 1983 graduate of the National College of Advocacy, University of Miami Law School. In June of 1970 he attended the International Law summer abroad program in Majorca, Spain sponsored by the University of Georgia Law School. Attendees studied and compared European systems of law and were allowed two weeks to travel on their own after exams. He was able to tour Spain, France and Italy during that time. He holds the highest Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating for legal ability and ethics-AV-Preeminate.

He has been chosen as a Top Lawyer in Georgia by both The Legal Network and by The Atlanta Journal Constitution.

While in law school he was a law clerk in Oklahoma City with an insurance defense firm, Pierce, Duncan, Couch and Hendrickson. Upon graduation from law school and passing the Georgia Bar he relocated to Atlanta in 1972 and became an associate with Ware, Sterne and Griffin doing primarily real property law. In 1973 he formed his own firm and has had a plaintiffs personal injury trial practice for the majority of the time since. Ed has tried numerous cases to jury verdict as both lead and co-counsel and argued several cases before the Court of Appeals of Georgia and two cases before the Supreme Court of Georgia. One of those cases, Stepho v Allstate, 259 Ga 475, invalidated a portion of Allstate's family immunity clause in automobile policies and was chosen by the Fulton Daily Report as one of the most important appellate decisions of 1989.

Ed, a member of the Georgia Bar, is admitted to practice before both the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has served as a judge for the High School Mock Trial Competition, as a volunteer for Legal Clinic for the Homeless,1000 Lawyers for Justice and as a group leader for many years at the University of Georgia Law School for the State Bar Orientation Workshop on Professionalism for first year students. He chairs the St. Pius Scholarship Fund which assists inner city kids in Jacksonville, is a member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the Old War Horse Lawyers Club and has been married since 1974 to Catherine. They have two grown sons and one granddaughter. The family enjoys tennis, hiking, boating, the beach, Lake Oconee, the Braves and Bulldogs football.
