ORDINARY SEAMAN

The Ordinary Seaman will perform a variety of duties to preserve painted surfaces of the vessel, maintain lines, running gear, and cargo handling in a safe operating condition. The Ordinary Seaman will also handle lines to moor vessel, clean decks, chip, clean and paint rust spots, lubricate machinery and equipment, splice and repair cables and rope, load and unload cargo, equipment, and supplies, and will also stand watch from bow or wing of bridge. All applicants must possess a current U.S. Coast Guard Ordinary Seaman's Card.
