Jennifer Bishop - Jenkins splits hairs on the core differences of coat types

Jennifer has been a Certified Master Groomer since 1985. Jennifer's passion and mission is the well-being of all dogs . . . and to make sure all dogs get groomed correctly for their natural coat types. Jennifer reminds groomers everywhere that groomers are in the Coat Care and Coat Preservation business, not the Coat Destruction business. She has worked to help join and build a movement within the pet grooming industry to groom all dogs correctly for their natural coat type.

Whether a dog is a pet and or a show dog they deserve to have their coat understood and cared for in a way that protects the entire integumentary system (skin and hair of mammals) for their lifetime. Jennifer has Masters Degrees in History and the equivalent in Education. Her love for teaching is reflected in the passion with which she always engages her audiences. Jennifer loves to share fascinating dog history and science in her acclaimed seminars. Join us while we learn what’s makes each coat unique!

About the NDGAA

The NDGAA was established in 1969, we are a professional membership association of persons engaged in the grooming and care of dogs for the promotion of excellence in professional standards. Our curriculum of activities includes registered membership, certified membership, educational workshops, certification testing, seminars and grooming competitions.

For over 52 years the association has worked with groomers throughout the world promoting and encouraging professionalism and education in order to upgrade the image of the pet grooming profession. Our goal is to unite groomers through membership, to promote communication with colleagues, to set recognized grooming standards and to offer those seeking a higher level of professional recognition the opportunity to have their grooming skills certified.

Workshop & Certification Program

The NDGAA Workshop & National Certified Master Groomer (NCMG) program was developed to offer all groomers the opportunity to participate in an innovative and educational workshop as well as provide a way that they may have their grooming skills evaluated and certified.
