The voices of people with lived experience of diabetes

Fang-Jun Su (Taiwan)

Learning to live with type 1 diabetes is a lifelong journey, an ongoing process.  I have gone through the highs and lows, setbacks, and self-growth. After my diagnosis in 2016, in my dark days, finding practical information online wasn't easy. Still, I imagine I wasn't the only person in this situation. This experience prompts me to share my own story.

Luana Carvalho (Canada)

I have been living with type 1 diabetes for fifteen years, having received my diagnosis in 2009. I chose to become a member of the Blue Circle Voices network because I am passionate about sharing my personal experiences to reach others who are living with type 1 diabetes. Ultimately, I aim to empower and encourage people worldwide to help them overcome the challenges associated with diabetes and lead a fulfilling life.

James Farrell (Australia)

When I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2012, it was a complete surprise to me and my family since we had no history of the condition. Diabetes was not something that I had ever considered or thought about. The initial months after my diagnosis were a blur. I received overwhelming information and numerous referrals to various healthcare professionals.
