Strong to Severe Storms About To Hit Metro Houston ~Justin
We're actively tracking a strong to severe line of storms heading into Houston metro over the next 1-3 hours. These storms have been dropping between 1-2" in less than an hour that will produce street flooding, skittle-size hail, and potentially damaging winds up to 60mph.
Multiple Flash Flood Warnings are active across our northern counties through this afternoon. Some areas around Lake Livingston have seen over 10" of rainfall overnight. This is causing major flooding concerns as this same area saw nearly a foot of rainfall earlier this week.
Storms should slowly move south to the coast until 4-5pm where the rest of the area will begin to dry out this evening. Some additional storms are likely early Friday and Friday afternoon but nothing as heavy as what is happening today.
Starting Sunday we dry out and heat up with temperatures in the 90s next week.
Stay safe and remember to never drive into a flooded roadway!
