Moussa Koita.jpg

Moussa Koita is a multi-talented musician, singer, songwriter, composer and arranger from Burkina Faso. Born into a griot family, he began performing at an early age. His musician father, Harouna Koita, was a member of the famous group Farafina, and his mother, Téné Sanou, is a singer in traditional African ceremonies. One of his first mentors was the late Victor Démé, who taught him to play guitar. He has collaborated with Sam Mangwana, Abou Diarra, Boubacar Traoré and many other well-known figures on the West African music scene.

The "African Celebration" track "Ouaga-Bobo," is about Koita's love and homesickness for his country, which brings him a sense of familiarity, hospitality, joy and brotherhood that nowhere else in the world compares to. "I've traveled all over the world," sings Koita, "I've discovered things / I've visited many places / I haven't seen a place like you yet." The song's vibrant and previously unreleased video clip was shot in his hometown Bobo-Dioulasso, the country's second-largest city, and in Ouagadougou, the bustling capital of Burkina Faso.
