Have you seen this video? Karen X. Cheng taught herself to dance in one year, and filmed herself at various different points in her learning experience. The video quickly went viral, and Cheng shared some advice with us on how to make your videos go viral, too. 

“First, I posted to Facebook/Twitter, and submitted it to social news sites like Reddit and Hacker News. I personally asked many of my friends to share it. I tweeted it at well-known dancers. I emailed bloggers who had covered other viral dance videos.
Of all the things I tried, Reddit paid off. It got to the top of the GetMotivated subreddit. I did this by following the advice in this article.”

The memories of bullying during childhood can haunt you forever — which is why spoken word poet Shane Koyczan is creating a message through a poem and animated video that will stick with you from this day onward.

Koyczan’s video, entitled “To This Day,” details the scary and trying moments from his own childhood that shaped his life.

It started with GoPro and it will continue with Glass. People want to see the world from unique perspectives… and specifically through the “eyes” of others. 

There’s over 180 million gopro video search results! We want to see people doing and experiencing amazing things. Go to places we could never go.

The future of social video is capturing the moment from the perspective of us.

I love House of Card. I sadly just finished the 1st season. It’s been renewed, which is also why I watched it (logic: if they are renewing it’s hopefully good). Also, I have netflix so it’s not any more expensive for me to watch the show when I want… how I want. This is the new shit for a reason. Take note:

Netflix’s first foray into original programming with “House of Cards” has turned heads in the media industry for a number of reasons. The two-season deal cost Netflix $100 million bucks. Netflix isn’t releasing its own metrics on “ratings.” And perhaps the biggest deal of all: Netflix released the entire first season of “House of Cards” all at once. And it’s freaking everyone out.

The Pirate Bay’s “Away from Keyboard” is doing it right.

This documentary was released on-line (shocker) for free & pay. In a few days they’ve received over 1 million views, 2,800+ downloads and raised $33k. Not bad. Let’s see where this goes.

Louie CK and others have utilized a similar model, but this is the first time a video is free on YouTube and Torrent… legally… and encouraged to be shared.

The pay is more like an afterthought to support the creators/cause.
