YOUCAN Youth Services Relentless Outreach Workers stop at nothing — within reasonable measures — to reach out to youth and empower them in making positive, healthy and life changing decisions.

Verto Project.

The Verto Project (Verto is Latin for “turn-around” or “change”) is a unique, 21-week pre-employment program that assists youth between the ages of 18-24 transition out of harm’s way and back into school or into the workforce. The programming portion will run over 9 consecutive weeks and successful candidates will earn a living allowance of $15/hr.

Road To Work Program.

The Road to Work Program is a collaboration between YOUCAN Youth Services and companies in the construction, road building, and traffic safety industries. The program will deliver employability workshops and industry focused safety trainings to successful candidates, aged 18-26 years old. This is a paid program with successful candidates earning a $15/hr wage. This program will give participants the tools needed to enter the construction, road building, and traffic safety industries.

Our Relentless Approach

At YOUCAN Youth Services we are RELENTLESS in all aspects of our work. We are RELENTLESS with our youth and for our youth. If we can't find them, we will track them down. If they need help in the community, we will advocate for them. We are determined to support our youth, until they are determined to support themselves.

Land Acknowledgment

We acknowledge Treaty 6 territory—the traditional and ancestral territory of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Settlements and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Regions 2, 3 and 4 within the historical Northwest Métis Homeland. We acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
